Recent Phony terror plot. Now no liquids on planes? Do you feel safe?
Red Alert: Why is GWB hijacking our airlines? Okay. You can't fly. You
can't drive. So much for the global village, the travel industry and
"America on the Go". "There's still the train," I said, "but don't let
Bush know -- or he'll hijack Amtrak too." And start issuing terror
alerts for Trailways and Greyhound as well. Why is the Bush bureaucracy
making it so difficult for Americans to travel? And WHY are Americans
putting up with it?
The new measures are confined to preventing US travelers from carrying
liquids into the aircraft cabin, with exceptions for common-sense items
such as drugs and infant formula. Otherwise, US passengers will be
permitted to carry the usual items on board. -What are they doing
with these so-called bombs after the so called traveling public I mean
terrorist give them to the TSA?
Apparently, the 'war on terror' could last a half-century or so we
are told but regardless of how long this phony war lasts, it'll mean
living under the boot of the state. It might not wear jackboots but
it'll be every bit as ruthless in suppressing dissent and as time
passes, the space for dissent will shrink, and shrink, and shrink ...
'til there's none left.
There's been a lot of crying wolf in London, so it should surprise no
one to find that the Americans have heard enough of it. (Although, to
be fair, Washington has trumpeted its share of counter terrorist
breakthroughs involving semi-harmless losers, but that's no reason for
them to buy into anyone else's.)
